Description

Contemporary Dance for Beginners (also referred to as modern dance) takes place over a 12-week duration and includes 24 sessions. The lessons cover the physical and mental fitness required for this art form as the teacher guides students through various forms of floor transitions. The course instructor will teach students how to utilize gravity to the advantage of the dancer so each movement flows effortlessly without any interruptions in the message each piece of dance intends to convey.

Regular practice with the instructor provides students with the opportunity to develop versatility and improvisation skills that are essential to all aspiring dancers. Additionally, this course will boost creativity and self-expression as each student learns new ways to connect with their emotions. Master dancer Megha Saini aims to create a positive and nurturing environment for each student, so they may feel free to explore their creativity to the fullest without fear or restriction. Saini is highly skilled in her ability to design movements to suit many forms of music, her formal training allows her the privilege to pass on the colourful origin of the myriad of dances she imparts to her students.

About Ms. Megha Saini: Megha Saini is a dance graduate from Shiamak Davar India International (SDI). For the last four years, Saini has served as a dance instructor passing on this art form to new and aspiring dancers. Saini has performed as a professional dancer for the last 10 years, she has served as an assistant choreographer with Bosco Ceaser Dance Company and was a part of the team which choreographed Katrina Kaif's dance in the National Award winning song KALA CHASHMA and has contributed to various Bollywood movies like KI AND KA, SHAANDAR, BAHUBALI 2, and more. Saini has received extensive training in various dance forms including jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, Bollywood, bboying, belly dancing, salsa, jive, lindy-hop, malakhamb, gymnastics and silk dancing. Her understanding of these many forms of dance benefits students by allowing them a wide variety of movements and moods from which to choose their own unique expressions.

How much time should a student enrolling for this course practice everyday?
Answer
Students should practice a minimum of 30 minutes every day. If they can devote more time to practice, they will learn better and faster.

What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?
Answer
The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on teacher’s discretion.

What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?
Answer
In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

How long will the teacher take to revert to a query raised after class hours?
Answer
The teacher will try to revert back to queries raised after class hours within a 24 hour period.
