This course takes place in once weekly, 60-minute online sessions, over an average duration of 15 weeks. Designed with beginners in mind, instructor Chiara Lo Faro has created a lesson plan that not only teaches basic musical theory but celebrates it. This course is ideal for young students learning musical theory online for the first time, or mature students seeking a refresher course. This class will be tailor-made for the student with instructor Chiara Lo Faro working hand-in-hand to design learning goals unique to students of all ages.

Course Details
The first session of this course will be utilized for the student and teacher to get to know one another. The student will have the opportunity to demonstrate where they are at in their musical education, so the course can be customized to their needs. Once the learning begins, the instructor will guide the student through the appropriate courses, including: music reading, solfege, time signatures, scales, incidentals, syncopation, ear training, rhythmic reading, minor keys, chord progressions, intervals and many more.
About Ms. Chiara Lo Faro: Chiara Lo Faro started musical training at the young age of seven with a simple keyboard. Later, she moved on to explore Western classical piano and began excelling through several advanced conservatory exams in Italy on topics including; harmony, singing, ear training, transposition and more. She was selected to receive a full scholarship by the European Union to be part of a project requiring 100+ hours of music making which contributed to Chiara Lo Faro’s first studio track at the young age of 15. Currently, she is a singer in her band while teaching students from around the globe one-to-one online, as well as in person. Her multi-linguistic abilities allow her to pass on her education to students from all nationalities.

It also gives teachers the opportunity, to gauge their students progress in depth and make changes whenever and wherever required, to ensure the student gets the maximum out of this course. The limited strength of the class also ensures that there is a strong bond between the students and their teacher clearing out any inhibitions that the student might have. The course is taught by pianist, singer and composer Chiara. She started music training at the age of 7 with keyboard and later moved to Western classical piano, clearing several advanced conservatory exams in Italy, on piano performance, harmony, singing, ear training, transposition and so on. She was selected to receive a full scholarship by the European Union to be part of a 100+ hour music making project which saw her record her first studio track at 15. She is currently singer in her band and teaches students from different countries online as well as in person, leveraging on her knowledge of several languages, while also working on her own musical projects. A part from music, she is an award winning professional working for the improvement of Europe-India cultural relations and has been featured in several print and online media in different countries in the world.
As a beginner’s course, students are not required to complete a prerequisite course before enrollment. All a student needs prior to enrolling is staff paper and pencil, a piano or keyboard (or online keyboard for those with no other option), and a passion for music. Those enrolling need to ensure they have time to commit not only to the 45-minute weekly online sessions, but to practicing between courses as well to make the most of their time with renown singer, composer and pianist Chiara Lo Faro.
