This 12 week long  course is for students interested to learn the art of murals in depth. The techniques taught through this course will be elaborate and time consuming and give the student an understanding that can help them improvise on their murals. In this course students will learn to make Handmade Clay sculpting, texturing, Designing & professional way of coloring process  (NO Mould work). Students enrolling for this course will not just learn about 3D mural, sculpting and painting, but by the end of it, would have created an art piece entirely by themselves.

Course Details

Students enrolling for this course will learn to clay sculpt a lotus and its stork. Clay sculpting tutorial topics will be covered in step by step stages as mentioned below.  Throughout the course the teacher will provide students with useful tips that make the effort easy. She will also provide her valuable feedback for students to get the maximum out of their effort, ensuring that the outcome is as desired.

About Kawita Thakur: Kawita Thakur is a renowned name in the field of Fine arts and crafts. It was her passion for learning arts that made her move from Ranchi to Mumbai when she got enrolled at the Sir J. J. School of Arts in Mumbai. In 1990. Completing the course with flying colors, Kawita worked as Art Director at an advertising Agency for a couple years. Unable to satisfy her quest to do something creative and innovative and encouraged by her husband Promod Thakur, Kawita quit the job to start something of her own. In 1997, she took training from IIT Mumbai (IDC) for Ceramics. After completing the course from IIT she became unstoppable. Her inquisitive nature made her research easy ways of sculpting in various mediums like Clay, metal, wood, Fiber etc.  Today, Kawita garners respect not just as an exceptional trainer, sharing her expertise, but also as a seasoned and successful entrepreneur. Kawita’s art pieces are popular with corporates, hotel chains and individuals. She has through the years taught her art and shared her skills with students from around the world, countries like the US, UK, UAE etc.

What is the age criteria to enroll for this course?
Answer
Students 18 years and above can enroll for this course.
Question
Can students make other murals using different material after completing this course?
Answer
Yes, students can make same style of murals, like other flower or birds where multi layering skills are required.
Question
How long does it take to make a mural?
Answer
In case of the mural taught in this course students will have to not just keep working on the mural during the live session they will also have to keep working after class hours. It is a time taking process.
Question
What if the students is unable to attend an upcoming class?
Answer
The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on teacher’s discretion.

What if the teacher wishes to reschedule the class?
Answer
In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

How much time will the teacher take to respond to a questions asked after class hours?
Answer
The teacher will try to respond to questions outside of class hours within a 24 hour time span. Students trying to connect with a query are advised to do so from 10:00 hrs in the morning till 20:00 hrs in the evening.
Question
Will there be an assessment for students undergoing this course? Would the teacher provide a certification to signify the learning?
Answer
No, there will be no assessment, students will get feedback. This course does not offer a certificate.
Question
How much time does it require to learn all forms and kinds of mural art?
Answer
It requires a minimum of a year to get a good understanding about the art form.
