This 5 week short term course introduces students to the art of creating a ‘3D Ganesha Mural’ in clay. Murals are pieces of art carried out directly on the  hard surface, taking into consideration the architectural elements evident in the space. In this course students will learn to make Handmade Clay sculpting, texturing, Designing & professional way of coloring process (NO Mould work). Students enrolling for this course will not just learn about 3D mural, sculpting and painting, but by the end of it, would have created an art piece entirely by themselves. They can use it to beautify their homes or gift it to a near and dear one.

Students enrolling for this course will learn to clay sculpturing idol of Lord Ganesha, revered as a deity encouraging arts and sciences. Clay Sculpting tutorial topics will be covered in step by step stages as mentioned below. Throughout the course the teacher will provide students with useful tips that make the effort easy. She will also provide her valuable feedback for students to get the maximum out of their effort, ensuring that the outcome is as desired.

About Kawita Thakur: Kawita Thakur is a renowned name in the field of arts and crafts. It was her passion for learning arts that made her move from Ranchi to Mumbai when she got enrolled at the Sir J. J. School of Arts in Mumbai. In 1990. Completing the course with flying colors, Kawita worked at an advertising job for a couple years. Unable to satisfy her quest to do something creative and encouraged by her husband Promod Thakur, Kawita quit the job to start something of her own. Today, Kawita garners respect not just as an exceptional teacher, sharing her expertise, but has also as a seasoned and successful entrepreneur. Kawita’s art pieces are popular with corporates, hotel chains and individuals. She has through the years taught her art and shared her skills with students from around the world, countries like the US, UK, UAE etc.

What is the age criteria to enroll for this course?
Students thirteen years and above can enroll for this course.
Can students make other murals using different material after completing this course?
Students can work on other murals using different kinds of clay. This is level I of sculpting for murals, students can work on murals of the same level.
How long does it take to make a mural?
It approximately will take about 10 hours to complete a mural.
What if the students is unable to attend an upcoming class?
The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on teacher’s discretion.
What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?
In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.
How much time will the teacher take to respond to a questions asked after class hours?
The teacher will try to respond to questions outside of class hours within a 24 hour time span. Students trying to connect with a query are advised to do so from 10:00 hrs in the morning till 20:00 hrs in evening.
Will the teacher provide additional drawings or any other material for this course, apart from the live session?
Drawing will not be required for this exercise but for the purpose of reference the teacher will provide a drawing.
Will there be an assessment for students undergoing this course? Would the teacher provide a certification to signify the learning?
As making a mural is an ongoing process students can click images and share it through mediums such as mail or WhatsApp for the teachers feedback. The teacher in specific will not be conducting assessments and there will be no certificate issue at the end of this course.
How much time does it require to learn all forms and kinds of mural art?
It requires a minimum of a year to get a good understanding about the art form.
