Learn Sketching & Painting | Digital Medium

This course introduces students to creating digital art and painting through a long term course. It begins by teaching students the different functions and elements available in photoshop. Further on the teacher will demonstrate to students how each of the elements and their function is used and the process to create a new or upload an existing file. For the purpose of painting students will first get to make use of the line element or function required to make a drawing or will be guided to upload a sketch, that has to be painted. Moving on in the course students learn about panels that contain the different elements which can be used for different functions. The brush panel is where different types of brushes are listed. Brushes can be selected depending on the effect students wish to achieve. Students will be taught about opacity, flow and the selection of a brush. Moving on, students learn about the foreground colour and the background color, alongside other tools such as the lasso tool, the eyedropper tool etc.

Further on in this course students get to learn the fundamental of drawing and the do’s and dont’s to be adhered to when drawing using the digital medium. Further ahead students learn more intricate details about the software photoshop. They are trained on how to use the layering function in photoshop to create a digital image. Students in the later stages are introduced to using the stylus which works exactly like the pencil or pen on paper. Students will learn on how exactly to use a digital stylus on a digital drawing board. Students get the needed help to enhance their drawing skills using the stylus. They are also guided on using the stylus for creating desired effects in the sketch.
