Course Details
Students taking this course will be taught one on one by Brian Lucas for an hour each week, for four weeks. As all students will have unique voices and vocal problems to address, Brian will also teach in a unique and individualized manner. By working closely with the student, Brian will be able to diagnose the exact vocal issues and create customized plans to help the student to correct these.
The majority of vocal issues that Brian has encountered have been due to overuse or sustained abuse of the vocal cords over time. Working alongside the student, Brian will be able to help them to produce vocal sounds in a much more effective and healthier way, no matter how extreme the singing, or how a student uses their voice.

Learning from a revered, experienced exponent of this art form, through the long duration of this course, keeps the student inspired and motivated to achieve more.
The course will teach students techniques to help achieve effective vocal control, help ease any fatigue on the vocals, create increased stability in their voice and further explore the range of their vocal capability with the view to extending and improving this.
Brian Lucas is a voice coach and a vocal scientist who works to train voices based on the latest in medical and scientific studies. He strives to preserve the uniqueness of every voice and customizes exercises towards each client’s specific voice and personal goals. Without using many of the traditional methods and things like scales or other generic exercises, he chooses instead to learn and experiment with each individual voice to find the right approach for you. He works with singers, actors, voice-over artists, and anyone who needs better control over their voice. Brian holds an honor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Berklee College of Music and is an active member in professional organizations such as the Voice Foundation, the Pan-American Vocology Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing and SAG-AFTRA. He continues to study, train and attend conferences to stay up to date on the latest vocal research and techniques.
Students do not need previous training or experience, but must be willing to train towards a professional level and issue-free vocals. Students may want to carry out a self-assessment before the first class to speed up the process.
