Pencil Sketching and Rendering
This is a 10 week long intermediate course teaching students the art of sketching and rendering using a pencil. Students will be first taught the basics of using pencils as a medium. The types of pencils required to get the desired result. Application of pressure while using a pencil to get varied tones. The different shading techniques and the use of kneaded eraser to enhance the drawing. Followed by, training on spheres with three types of finishes, finally culminating into rendering photoreal renderings of a pot, apple or onion, woolen cloth and sand.
This 10 week long intermediate course will educate students on the basics of pencil sketching and rendering, starting from the materials required, to the apt use of materials such as the pencil and other stationery. This course will further the student's ability to use different pencils for making desired strokes in a drawing, filling up various shapes with plane tones. The art of amalgamating or blending of two tones to add values of light or contrast to the drawing. Usage of the kneaded eraser to enhance the drawing. Complete drawing of a pot while changing its material properties with simple tricks and training on spheres with three types of finishes. The final leg of the course will train students on creating photoreal representations of an apple, onion as well as representing the texture and volume visible in woolen cloth and sand.

This intermediate pencil sketching and rendering course requires each student to be aware of the basics of sketching and shading. The course is best suited for students with great amount of patience as rendering photoreal drawings takes a lot of effort and precision, which can only be mastered through patiently practising the art on a regular basis.
The tangibles required for the course are listed below:
1) Brusto or Fabriano Accademia A4 size paper;
2) Staedtler pencils of grades H, B, 2B, 4B and 8B;
3) Kneaded Eraser;
4) Good pencil sharpener;
5) Paper stumps; and
6) Flat brush of half inch width.
