Language Skills For Jazz Improvisation (with school and career guidance)

About the course

Through the tutelage of Mark Sherman, students will study vibraphone/keyboard harmony, improvisation skills as well as all of the necessary scales, chord outlines, harmonic language skills and mallet techniques that are necessary to improvise, negotiate chord changes, and apply general functions for the performance of the various song forms used in jazz performance. The course covers jazz theory and improvisation skills from the ground up, going through the 2-5-1's in all keys using 6 different voicings and onward. Mark has a very specific methodology for learning this material which will be accompanied by many drills to cover all the chord qualities and how to layout your voice on chord changes.
