Basics of Bharatanatyam | Level I

About the course

This course will be an in depth attempt at getting students well versed with the Indian classical dance form, Bharatnatyam. Apart from educating students on the origins of Bharatanatyam, the course will teach students all the adavus as well as mudras and prepare the student for a 6 to 8 minute dance recital called pushpanjali. On conclusion of the course students would have learnt the important adavus or foot movements that combine to form a dance sequence. They would also be well versed with single and double hand gestures or mudras, besides being ready for a 6 to 8 minute Bharatanatyam performance called pushpanjali. This course provides for an ideal foundation for students to advance to the next level of learning.
