Music Teacher - Self Employed
Over the course of 44 weeks, students will learn vocal development exercises and techniques, and how to apply them to playback singing—which is singing for someone else performing on stage or screen. Lessons begin with basic voice exercises and standing note practices, followed by learning 20 Palta exercises. Students will also engage in vocal development exercises, including learning the swar diagram—which illustrates pitch. Once the Indian vocal basics have been covered, playback singing techniques are taught, including voice throwing and modulation. Students also learn ten chosen playback numbers that vary in style, pitch, tempo and difficulty.
This course provides a foundational knowledge of techniques and practices needed for playback singing, and students will have the opportunity to learn this unique skill from experienced playback singer Snehendu Naskar. This long-term course will give students skills and techniques they can build on, should they choose. At the successful completion of this course, students will have learned exercises for developing their voice and how to sing ten playback numbers. This course is best for students who haven’t had any vocal training but possess an interest in music and singing.
