Basic Hindi Lessons for Beginners
According to the 2001 world census, over 420 million people all over the world speak Hindi. Basic Hindi as a Second Language is ideal for English speakers who are ready to tear down the barriers barring them from engaging in the rich cultural heritage the Hindi language has to offer. During the sixteen week duration of this course, students will receive expert guidance of native Hindi speaker Nishu Varma, in once-a-week sessions. Now people all over the world can learn this beautiful language in the comfort of their own home.

Course Details
As a beginner's course, this class covers all the elements to ensure each student leaves with a strong foundation upon which to advance their Hindi studies. Topics covered include a thorough introduction to the basics of Hindi grammar, including word banks and conversational style phrase structure. As a native speaker herself, Nishu Varma will ensure each student is well educated in the foundational knowledge required to hold conversation with another native Hindi speaker. This course utilizes teaching methods to suit any style of learner, including lectures, worksheets, and mini-projects to help students stay engaged in their education.
About Nishu Varma: Instructor Nishu Varma has achieved an honours degree in the English language, as well as degrees in English literature and Italian. Previously, Varma’s thirteen year sojourn in Italy served to reinforce her knowledge of Hindi, English, and Italian as she served as a teacher, translator, and intercultural mediator in an effort to bridge the differences between Italians and Indians. Since 2010, Varma has endeavored to build her repertoire of educational products including lesson plans, teacher support materials, and textbooks. During the duration of her courses, Nishu Varma is ready to meet each student where they are in their current language proficiency and help them build their skills and meet their multilingual goals.
Students enrolling for this course on ipassio can be sure that they receive individual attention from the teacher, as the class strength is limited to 1 or 2 students. It also gives teachers the opportunity, to gauge their students progress in depth and make changes whenever and wherever required, to ensure the student gets the maximum out of this course. Since this course is detailed, students get the advantage of learning intricate details about this art form. The limited strength of the class also ensures that there is a strong bond between the students and their teacher clearing out any inhibitions that the student might have. The sustained guidance available from the teacher ensures that the student does not deviate from set goals or targets. There are no prerequisites required before enrolling in this course. However, lessons will be held in English so students will need to read, write, and speak English in order to attend. Notebook and writing materials are required of the student but all other materials will be provided by the instructor. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to carry on simple conversation with native Hindi speakers and be fully prepared to move on to a more advanced course.
