Course Details
The ukulele is a fun and easy to learn instrument and, although it is often described as "cute," many new ukulele players, and even those who are learning as experienced guitar players, find it to be an incredibly versatile instrument. Over the course of 25 weeks, Kevin Carroll will take the student from an entry-level player to writing and playing their own songs.
The course will explain how to properly handle the ukulele, including holding and hand positioning to ensure the sound does not get choked and the correct way to strum with either the fingers or a pick. Kevin will also teach students how to name and tune the strings to perfection. Once this has been mastered, the student will learn a few simple chords which will help them to play their favorite songs and writing their own as well. Kevin will also teach students how to play scales on the ukulele so that they are comfortable finding the notes on each individual string, helping them to read music if they wish at a later date. Once the student has mastered the basics, Kevin will then help them to play songs and even help them to come up with their own!
