Course Details

Customized 1-on-1 instructions will improve your skills quickly and get your hands and mind ready to perform music. This course includes pdf and video resources. Sascha Jacobsen will tailor the course to suit your needs as he will explore styles such as Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Latin, etc with you.  He will work together with you to teach all the fundamentals of playing Electric Bass. Students will gain a great understanding of music in general and learning how to master the bass. Personal attention and additional resources and customized teaching material will be delivered by email as the lessons progress.

About the Instructor: Sascha Jacobsen heirs from a long line of musicians dating as far back as his great, great, great, great-grandfather, a famous Russian Violinist who served as a bassist for the Moscow Opera. Some of Jacobsen’s mentors have included exponents such as Michael and James Finley, Nico Abondolo, John Brecher, Wolfgang Guttler, Shinji Eshima, and Dennis Trembly. Jacobsen achieved his Masters Degree at the University of Southern California. Afterward, Jacobsen founded Musical Art Quintet, a group that performs Jacobsen’s original works. Jacobsen serves the musical community as a performer, composer, and arranger with commissions from the San Francisco Arts Council, San Jose Chamber Orchestra, Berkeley Youth Symphony, and SF Friends of Chamber Music. An experienced educator, Jacobsen has served as faculty at Humboldt State University, Laney College, Sequoia Chamber Music Festival, Golden Gate Bass Camp, and the California Jazz Conservatory. Jacobsen continues to teach by offering online music lessons to aspiring musicians across the globe.

Yes, this course can be customized based on your goals and objectives.

What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?
Answer
The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on teacher’s discretion.

What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?
Answer
In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.
Question
How long will the teacher take to revert to a query raised after class hours?
Answer
The teacher will try to revert back to queries raised after class hours within a 24 hour period.
