Q: How much time should a student devote to practice everyday?

Students interested and passionate to learn Hindustani vocal lessons should devote at least 30 minutes to practice every day.

Q: What if the student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

The student is required to inform the teacher about their absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about their absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on the teacher’s discretion.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule the class?

In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

Q: How long will it take for the teacher to respond if the student raises a question after class hours through mail or the platform?

Students should get a response within 24 hours if the teacher is not preoccupied or travelling.

About the Course

Through these classes, the students be introduced to a scientific approach (passed on to Deborshee by his Guru Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty) to polishing the most important tool to sing- the voice. The following concepts will be covered:

About the Teacher: A very promising musician of this age, Deborshee Bhattacharjee was born into a musical family and was introduced to music at the age of 5 by his mother and first Guru, Smt. Reena Bhattacharjee. Since the age of 10, he has been undergoing training from the universally acclaimed musician and maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty.

Deborshee has performed in several prestigious musical concerts across the globe and has created a separate niche in the world of elite musicians. Deborshee has already marked his versatility among the audience as he has been composing and performing different genres of music all over the world.

Deborshee is currently a senior Musician of ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata and an A-graded artist of All India Radio, a regular performer in Television and also an empanelled artist of ICCR, Government of India. He got his debut album, “New Signature” released by Ustad Zakir Hussain from “Geetinandan,”

He has been blessed by stalwarts of Indian Music such as Late Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Vidushi Lata Mangeshkar, Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Jasraj, Late Ustad Sultan Khan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Suresh Wadkar, Pt. Rajan, Sajan Mishra, Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, and many more.

Deborshee was the founder of the group ‘Dhun’ where he composed some popular songs. From a very early age, he has been honoured with awards most recently the Late Sitaram & Malti Dixit Classical Award from Gaanwardhan Institute, Pune & Sangeet Ashram Kolkata. Other prestigious awards include a first prize from West Bengal State Music Academy twice, the prestigious National Scholarship from Govt. of India, Honorary Citizenship Award from Corporation of Chandannagore, Awards from Pandit Ravi Kitchlu foundation, Doverlane Music Conference, Sangeet Piyashi etc.
