This 24 week long online course will focus on the fundamentals of classical music. The one-hour, one-to-one learning sessions will be conducted through the most commonly used online meeting applications at a mutually decided time between the teacher and the student.
Students will be introduced to the basic notes and other significant features of classical music including sargam, taan, and bandish. Students will also learn light classical songs with specific taal and sargam. They will learn how to play the harmonium and identify different scales on it. Most importantly, students will connect with a mentor Sudeb Dey, who is carrying the baton of the rich musical legacy of the Dey Gharana of music after his grandfather K.C. Dey and uncle Manna Dey.

The highlights of this online course include voice training and concept building about thaat, taal, and raag. It will also involve learning to play the harmonium and getting acquainted with the different scales played on it. The syllabus for light classical of the course include Bhajan, Geet, Rabindra sangeet, Nazrul geeti, and old Hindi and Bengali songs. The students will also learn some of the best song compositions by Padma Bhushan Manna Dey and legendary singer - K.C Dey.
About the Teacher - Sudeb Dey has trained under two legendary singers he is related to. It is incredibly lucky to be connected with a legend of a lifetime. But here, Sudeb Dey has been very lucky to have got two mentors - Padmabhushan Manna Dey and legendary blind singer K.C. Dey. Both the singing legends have contributed to the heritage of Indian music. And now, Sudeb Dey being the torchbearer of the Dey Gharana, has dedicated his life to teaching music to deserving students in India and abroad. An excellent singer himself, Dey has gathered several accolades for the film songs sung by him. He wants to spread the light of music that he has received from his Gurus and let people know about the exclusivity of the Dey Gharana.
