About the Course
These classes will help students explore the following concepts:
- Introducing you to ‘your’ Sa
- Identification of Swaras from your own Sa and Sapat singing
- Learning small Paltas with the beat
- Learning to create Paltas
- The concept of Taal, Chhand, and their implementation in Paltas
- Reyaaz (Practice) of the upper and lower octave
- Learning to sing Aakara of respective Swaras
- Learning identification of twelve notes
- Practising Thaat notes, in Swar and Aakar
- Introduction to Sargam Geet, Raag Bandish
- Learning to improvise and sing Vistaar, Bol Baani, and Taan Sargam with and from Bandish
About the Teacher: Born in a family of musicians, Sunetra’s training began at an early age, under the guidance of her father and grandfather. Her skills were further honed under the expertise of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and Kaushiki Chakraborty for about 18 years. She had her Ghazal training under the mentorship of Shri Baloo Dutta Ji.
Sunetra was awarded a gold medal from Sarba Bhartiya Sangeet Parishad. She added another feather to her cap with the certificate of excellence in Ghazal, judged by Pankaj Udhas Ji and Rekha Bharadwaj Ji.
Sunetra has been performing pan India and has sung for movies, web series, documentaries, and jingles.
