Q: What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on the teacher’s discretion.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

If the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days before the class. Q: How much time should a student enrolling for this course practice everyday?

Students interested and passionate to learn Hindustani vocal lessons should devote at least 30 minutes to practice every day.

Q: How long will the teacher take to revert to a query raised after class hours?

Students should get a response within 24 hours if the teacher is not preoccupied or traveling.

About the Course

The classes will help students to pick up the basics of Hindustani Vocals to create a base for future learning. It focuses on the following aspects:

Determining a suitable scale for the student
Analyzing a proper voice tone
Determining and enhancing the vocal range
Introducing voice throwing techniques
Voice Modulation
Understanding the beat structure of Indian classical music

By the end of these sessions, the student will feel very confident about his/her vocal flexibility and musical skills.

About the Teacher: Born in a musical family, Suparno began his classical music journey at the young age of 8. He started his first formal training under the guidance of Sandip Ghosh (eminent disciple of Pandit A. T. Kanan Sahib) in the Kirana Gharana for 3 years.

Alongside his higher education, he took Hindustani classical vocals training under the guidance of Vidwan Shri Omkar Dadarkar and continues to do so to date. A few achievements in the field of Hindustani Vocals include the "1st Position in Chetla Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani" and "1st Position in the ISO Certified Bharat Sanskriti Utsab" in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

Suparno believes that music is entirely orchestrated by one’s brain but it's the passion of the heart that keeps the learner hungry for more and pushes him/her to go the extra mile.
