Hindi Bhajan Vocals
This short-term course in singing classical Hindi bhajans is designed for students who already know Hindi and want to learn popular devotional compositions by famous artists. Designed by Indian Classical exponent and Sufi artist Sonal Shah, this course is great for both hobbyist and professional singers alike. Lessons are face-to-face online each week for one hour over the course of 15 weeks.

Course Details
During this course, expert vocalist Sonal Shah will guide students through learning the traditionally popular devotional Hindi songs. Students will learn techniques and practices that will benefit them in the performance of Hindi Classical Bhajan vocals. 15 sessions with Teacher Shah will prepare students to perform 10 songs in the style of a professional.

About Mrs. Sonal Shah: Sonal Shah is an experienced Sufi vocalist and composer who began performing at age 9. She has performed countless concerts since and was classically trained in music from SNDT Women’s University, with a post-graduate degree and gold medals. An award-winning artist, Shah received the Kala Gujari Award for her contributions to Sufi music and the Surmani National Award for Indian Classical Vocal Music.
Fluent in four languages including Urdu, Shah has been teaching students in university and privately in the art of Sufi and Ghazal vocal tradition for many years. Her extensive experience and education, as well as a lifetime dedicated to music, makes Sonal Shah a compelling teacher for any student with an interest in Indian Classical music.
Students enrolling on ipassio have the advantage of getting introduced to or learn the intricacies of an art form, from an experienced exponent of the art. The sessions will help you in creating a strong foundation on a specific topic. The sessions will be customized based on each student's goals and required area of improvement.
Sonal Shah’s lesson plan includes understanding the meaning of each song, the proper pronunciation and melody, as well as performance technique. Students who speak Hindi and have a basic understanding of Indian Classical music will do best in this course. Career vocalists wanting to add bhajans to their repertoire will benefit from lessons from an experienced professional and beginners will be able to start performing as soon as the course is completed successfully.
