About the Instructor: Adam Cohen has been described as a "true double threat" playing both electric and acoustic bass. He started his musical career early on, playing the piano as taught by his composer and accomplished pianist father. It was not long after that he discovered his love for the lower end of the scales through his influences such as The Beatles, Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, Stanley Clarke and Chicago. Further influenced by Charles Mingus, Ray Brown, Dave Holland and Ray Brown, Adam dove headfirst into learning both electric and upright bass.
Moving from Queens, New York to LA, Adam is now a firm presence in the scene with two albums - Ritual (2005) and Gig Bag (1994) - as well as numerous compositions under his belt. He has also performed and recorded with many well-known faces such as Ray Charles, Ernie Watts, Renee Olstead, David Benoit, John Klemmer, Rob Mullins and Engelbert Humperdinck among many others.
