During this course, instructor Dr. Jagriti Luthra Prasanna, will guide students through learning intermediate level Ragas, including yaman, bhairav, tori, pooriya, bilawal, sarang, megh, bhairavi, and more. Dr. Jagriti believes that the tradition of Sufi singing, with lyrics written by the Murshads and peers, is the best way to get in touch with the gods spiritually. Each course will be designed to accommodate the student’s level of skill, speed of learning, and individual interest to ensure retention of the joy of learning. About Dr. Jagriti Luthra Prasanna: Jagriti Luthra Prasanna (one of the sisters from Roohani Sisters Sufi Jugalbandi), has accomplished a doctorate degree in Sufi Music from Delhi University and has written her thesis on the work and contribution of Lt. Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Sufi Music. Dr. Jagriti learns Indian Classical Music from Padma Vibhushan Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra of Banaras Gharana and is also a sincere disciple of Ustaad Sakhawat Hussain Khan, Grandson of Padama Bhushan Ustaad Mushtaq Hussain Khan of Rampur-Sehaswan Gharana, from whom she’s learning the technicalities of Sufi and Ghazal Gayaiki. Dr. Jagriti's idea of Sufism is deeply rooted in her devotion to spirituality. She believes in the importance of spreading the word of the Sufi saints and has dedicated her educational life to furthering their voices to the future generations, ensuring the continuation of this musical tradition.
