This second-level beginner course is a continuation for those learners who started with the first-level beginner course of Bharatanatyam, taught by Veena C.S. This Bharatanatyam curriculum will continue with the students learning the different concepts and meanings of the different patterns in the dance form. The theoretical elements of the course will include an introduction and detailed study of the Suladi Sapta tala - including the Shloka, angas, and 5 Jaatis, Adavu, Taala, Laya, and finally the first chapter of the Natya Shastra, which includes more than 40 shlokas. Your instructor, Veena C.S, will take the students through the different stages of the learning process, and the meanings of various terms and concepts so that each student has a true understanding of the art form.
Apart from this, the students will also continue to learn the different physical exercises required to keep up with the learning process and pace, from the basic Tattadavu to the more advanced Sarikkal Adavu. The course duration is up to 6 months and will be held for 60 mins per session but, ultimately, the progress depends on the progress and comfort of the student.
