Q: Is chess more of a logical or intuitive game?

It depends on the player. Some rely purely on logic and principles, others just see the moves. Personally, I am more of an intuitive player.

Q: What is the minimum age to learn?

The minimum age to learn is 5 years and above.

Q: What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on the teacher’s discretion.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

Harshal Save's introductory chess course on ipassio covers all the learning levels. In this course, chess will be taught life, on a 1-on-1 basis, online. This course is for all individuals at any level and it shall cover a lot of intricate techniques, from the basics to the advanced stages. Students will be introduced to the different pieces and the working behind a chessboard, and they will also be covered under this complete chess course from basics to expert level. The students will exhibit reasoning, build pattern recognition, take choices visually and analytically, and test their memory at the successful completion of this course.

About the Course

This course will be helpful as it will help the beginners to improve their concentration, their observation, and listening skills, their visualization and imagination will be enhanced, their memory will be strengthened, their speed and accuracy will be amplified, their creativity will be boosted, their self-confidence will be increased and their academic foundation will be strengthened. The curriculum is for a duration of 16 weeks and it prepares the enrolled individuals from scratch to advanced level.
1. Basic level 1, which covers all rules and regulations & basic playing skills (12- 15 sessions)
2. Basic level 2, which enhances basic game-opening & ending abilities. (12 sessions)
3. Intermediate level 1, improves tactical & calculative abilities (12- 15 sessions)
4. Intermediate level 2, along with a better understanding of board positions & problem-solving skills, improves end game skills (12-15 sessions)
5. Advance, more strategical & tactical improvisation along with different types of openings & game studies (ongoing)

About the instructor: Harshal is an extremely passionate teacher, honing around 12 years of experience in Chess Coaching to more than 1200 students of all age groups from pre-primary kids to working professionals and of various backgrounds too ( underprivileged to International board students). He is an expert in connecting with kids, as in, he loves to teach in a fun environment, full of excitement & light heartedly. Volunteer ( aspire to be Teacher) in the NGO, named The Art of Living organization for the past 17 years.
