Basics of Crochet | Designing a Shawl

This course will introduce crochet to students as an artform that can be used to enhance an existing outfit or create an entirely new accessory. Students will be taught the basic styles of crochet using a hooked needle and yarn (wool). The course will commence by teaching the students on how to hold the crochet hook. How to slipknot and chain hook. Followed by working into the chain, making single crochet, making a double crochet and the triple crochet. It will further on teach students on how to slip stitch, yarn over, make a crochet turning chain, progressing to teach the way to join yarn. Moving on, it will educate students on how to crochet in the front and back loop and finally how to fasten off.

About Frida Mistry: Frida Mistry always was inclined towards arts, visible in the fact that she completed her graduation in sculpting from the well known and recognized art institute of Bangalore, Chitrakala Parishad of Fine Arts. She has also achieved a Grade 8 certification in piano from the Trinity School of Music in London for her piano playing skills. She has through the years endeavored to teach students different artforms that she has ,mastered. Frida has taught piano to students at couple of the reputed schools in Bangalore for over a decade. Currently, Frida devotes her time to teaching interested students, crochet, knitting and piano from her home in the outskirts of Bangalore.
