This course for beginners covers the basics of music theory, teaching students the skills needed to advance their interest in music. Lessons begin with learning rudimentary Western musical notation—including notes and rest types and groups—and major scales in different keys. Students will also learn about accidentals, intervals, arpeggios, ostinato, musical vocabulary and symbols, circle of 5ths, and answering a given rhythm. The course will conclude with learning to make an analysis of simple musical pieces, rounding out a fundamental music education. These concepts will be taught in a live online learning environment.
Each student in this course will benefit from Mr. Quadros’ extensive education and experience in instrumental music and music theory, providing each student with the information they need to grow as musicians
About the Teacher
Jason started playing tunes from the Church and nursery rhymes on the keyboard at the age of six. He studied music under Mr. Salazar D’sa. He soon began playing in his Parish Church, Moira, Goa. Later on, he completed his grades in music, at Trinity College, London, under the guidance of the Late Ms. Philomena D’Cruz. In 2006. He was awarded the Hannam Clarke Award for securing the highest marks in the World (outside the UK) for his 8th Grade Keyboard exam at Trinity College, London.
Jason is well-versed in many styles like Rock, Jazz, Country, Funk, Blues, and Western classical. He plays the Keyboard, Piano, Guitar, and Bass. He has performed at several domestic and international venues. Jason is an enthusiastic Music teacher who has been teaching for the last 13 years. He also prepares the students for the Grade Music Exams.
Currently, he is the Director of his Choral Group called “Divine Harmony Choir”, which is based in North Goa and performs religious services in the Church, like Nuptials, Feasts, Funerals, etc. He also accompanies several notable musicians and music bands. To name a few renowned musicians - Yvonne and Braz Gonsalves, Jarryd Rodrigues, Colin D’cruz, Lester Godinho, Sonia Sirsat, Portuguese Singer Maria Meireles, Late Sitar player Pandit Yograj Naik, and Santoor player Pandit Naresh Madgaonkar.

Each student will need to purchase a copy of this book, as well as a music manuscript book used to practice notation and exercises, both of which can be found at most local music stores or online.
