This long term course is aimed at introducing students to the world of art as well as teaching them the techniques of using many different mediums such as watercolors, soft pastels, gel pens, charcoal, tempera paints etc. in paintings. Students enrolling for this course will get briefed about art history and get an opportunity to hone their skills on using different mediums mentioned above in their paintings and be able to vision the medium they would like to work with. Students also get introduced to the concept of art therapy and the therapeutic advantages of art. All this, in an environment of creativity without boundaries, giving students the leverage to explore mediums and styles differently or exhibit their own intuitive style.

This long term course is spread over a period of six months. Students get introduced to many different mediums for painting, i.e watercolors, acrylic, soft pastels etc. Further on students will be taught drawing with charcoal, soft pastels, pen and ink. This will give the foundation of depth, light, composition and shade. This course will then progress to teach students about each individual medium, i.e watercolors, acrylic, tempera paints etc. and the techniques to use these mediums to get the desired results, like the technique of glazing. Further, it will speak about masking, sponging, knife painting, use of a spatula. Demonstrate to students on how to attain texture, in a painting. Moving on this course will reveal to students the use of a dry brush followed by many other techniques. This course will also introduce students to the concept of art therapy mentioning the therapeutic advantages of painting. Finally, the students will be guided in applying these different techniques to create art pieces as well as using the medium of art to display emotions and feelings.
