In addition, students will learn how to perform five chosen Bhajan numbers from the instructor, experienced vocalist Snehendu Naskar. ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is an in-depth introduction to Indian vocal music, best for students with a keen interest in music and singing. Students will begin by learning basic voice exercises and standing note practices, followed by more difficult muchchana voice exercises, and 11 Palta exercises aimed at vocal development. Finally, students will learn five chosen Bhajan numbers that vary in style, pitch, tempo and difficulty. Students of Snehendu Naskar will have the opportunity to learn from an expert vocalist with a decade of experience in vocals and playback singing. These lessons will allow students to move from beginning to intermediate ability over the course of 28 weeks, and provide a strong foundation in Indian vocal music that students can build on. This course is best for students who haven’t had any previous vocal training.

About Snehendu Naskar: Snehendu Naskar is an experienced vocalist and performer who began singing at the age of 8. His first guru was his mother, Smt. Sulata Naskar. Then, he began his music career at age 11, going on to study under Sri Jayanta Sarkar. He's a talented playback singer, having performed vocals for television and movie soundtracks, and commercial jingles. He has also performed and been a finalist on popular reality television shows like Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, and DD Bangla Gaan Sudhu Gaan. Mr. Naskar teaches Indian vocal music and grooms students for playback singing.
