This Bollywood singing course for beginners does not require the students to have any previous knowledge - simply an interest in music and an enthusiasm for learning. It will cover all the basics of voice techniques needed to sing traditional Bollywood songs, providing students with an excellent base upon which they can build as they go forward on their musical journey.
Atri Kotal is a highly qualified and gifted teacher having been in formal training since the age of 11. Her musical career has been filled with awards and praise, highlighting the extent of her vocal skills and dedication to Hindustani music. In this course, she aims to inspire beginners with the same passion she has herself and pass on some of the expertise she's gained over her successful career.
Students can expect to be competent in performing a range of Bollywood songs by the end of the course and will be able to feel confident in their new vocal skills. They'll be well equipped to tackle simple songs and be in a good position to move onto intermediate training and classes if they wish to grow their musical skills further.
About Atri Kotal: Based in Kolkata, Atri Kotal is longtime student of classical music and an accomplished performing artist. She began her formal training in Hindustani classical music at the age of 11, under the tutelage of the late Pandit Biresh Roy, and later under Smt Haimanti Shukla and Ustad Jainul Abedin of Agra Gharana. In 2014, Kotal released her first album of devotional music titled Naman – Light of the Soul, a collection of bhajans. She performs live in various venues in West Bengal and teaches vocal music to students all over the world. The recipient of numerous awards, most recently Kotal received the National Scholarship in both Hindustani vocal and semi-classical music from the Ministry of Culture in 2015.
