About the Course
The classes will cover Bollywood songs based on Ragas and all the details revolving around them. The following concepts will be covered:
- Introduction of the Raga on which the song is based
- Technicalities of the Ragas
- Application of Notes
- Application of Tempo and Rhythm
About the Teacher: Born in a family of music lovers, Onkar Deshmukh has been learning music and performing since the age of 3. At the age of 9, he sang a Marathi duet for All India Radio.
Onkar received advanced training in light music singing from Dr Saleel Kulkarni, Pandit Ramesh Kanole, and Pandita Sita for Indian classical Music. Onkar is a ‘Sangeet Visharad’ with a special qualification from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai.
In India, he has won several music competitions and performed as a lead singer in various music shows in major cities. He has also performed in front of renowned people like eminent historian Padma Vibhushan Shri. Babasaheb Purandare, Lyricist Shri. Pravin Devane, Singer Shri Shridhar Fadke, International Jaltarang player Pandit. Shri Milind Tulankar.
In the United Kingdom, he has performed at prestigious venues like Maharashtra Mandal, London and Mauritian Marathi Society, London and also several other venues in the U.K.
