Bollywood Singing Classes - Open to All

As opposed to just going by the wishlist of Bollywood songs, this course addresses certain vital concerns that will help the students become well-rounded singers. It will help them to choose appropriate songs for them to sing. 

The course will roll out in the following manner -  

• The most important factor in Bollywood singing is that no matter how complicated the melodic composition you are rendering - it should come out clean and effortless. The teacher will take up songs that range from easy to challenging to see how you can attack high notes without feeling the strain on your vocal cords. How you can produce a good, clean tone with your voice and use your body to sing and draw power from it. 
• Vocal styling is very different for Bollywood, which is again something we'll learn. The most important aspect here is to avoid imitating popular singers or even sounding like them. It is important for you to find your voice and identity. You should learn to add small nuances on your own.  
• Correct pronunciation and bringing out the right feel of the song will be the main focus. To work steadily towards your goals while not getting overwhelmed is key. We'll make steady progress and see results in songs that you wish to sing.

About the teacher  

Rajni Shivram has been trained in Indian Classical Music from the age of 8 till 16. After that, she realized that Blues and Jazz were her true calling. She is currently pursuing Western classical music with the aim of becoming an opera singer. 

Rajni has performed with one of the pioneer Blues bands of India, The Chronic Blues Circus, for 3 years. At present, she has her own band by the name of Midnight Poppies. Her band's original compositions have been featured worldwide, in various countries like Canada, the UK, the USA (Texas, Chicago), the Netherlands, etc. They have also featured on DD National's first-ever show for Indie bands - "Rock the Night". 

Rajni has been teaching for the last three years. She finds joy in teaching technique training - an area that she specializes in.  Her teaching methodology comes from her years of practicing and correcting her own techniques. She has studied and assimilated all the information to present it to the students in a systematic, structured manner so that is it easy to understand and enjoyable at the same time.
