Bollywood Playback Singing Lessons for Beginners - Group Class of 6

Q: Can students from all age groups enroll in this course?

Students aged 8 or above can join this course.

Q: How much time should a student practice every day?

Students should practice a minimum of 40 minutes every day. If they can devote more time to practice, they will learn better and faster.

Q: What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

In that case, the student will miss the class. But they will get the class recording.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days before the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

Q: How long will the teacher take to revert to a query raised after class hours?

The teacher will try to revert to queries raised after class hours within 24 hours. Also, a Whatsapp group will be created for the students and the teacher of this course. It will allow the students to share information about the classes and lessons taught in the class with each other.

This is a group class for 6 students in one session. The lesson plan includes -

How to recognize our best scale for practice?
A detailed walk-through of the fundamentals, including learning how to get control of basic singing techniques.
You will also learn which songs you should be singing and which ones would suit your voice type.
You will also learn how to make an overall difference and impact in live performances and also how to record songs and videos on your own at an economical rate.
You should attend with an open mind, and trust in his ability to guide you through the course content.
The singing techniques that are taught in this course are largely based on Indian classical music and other forms of semi-classical music. So, apart from picking up the basics, you will also be introduced to this genre indirectly.
You will also learn the correct breathing techniques and exercises, and their dynamics. You will learn how they will help you in your singing journey.
These will help in improving the voice quality and endurance through advanced exercises.
You will also learn simple songs with notation and taal, in different simple ragas.

About the Instructor

Shriram Iyer is a celebrated Bollywood playback singer. Multilingual singer and performer Shriram Iyer began his career in 1998. He specializes in modern concepts and is known for his unique ability to blend various genres of music. Well-versed in Classical, Bollywood, Sufi, and Fusion, Iyer’s command of the many musical genres has led him to become an accomplished singer.

Iyer has given his voice in the songs for films including ‘IQBAL’, ‘Umar’, ‘Udaan’, ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘Shor in the City’, and more. The seasoned singer has also composed and sung title tracks for many reality shows on television including ‘Shaabaash India’, ‘Titan Antakshari’, ‘Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Lil Champs’ & ‘Rock N Roll Family’ for Zee TV, and also ‘Zinda Dil’ for Zee Next. Times Music launched Iyer’s album ‘OM- a fusion’ which has since been nominated for the Sangeet awards held in San Francisco. He has also been a part of the Jury for ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Lil Champs’ - a musical reality show on Zee TV.
