Learn Carnatic Vocals - Foundation 2 - Level 1

Taking the fundamental lessons of Carnatic music a layer deeper, this course is designed to cover small compositions known as Geetams of a selected list of ragas. The students will be introduced to new beautiful melodic structures that Ragas are. The Ragas will be broken down into small and simple patterns to make it easy for them to understand. The students will learn how different musical notes create beautiful melodies. The Geetams will further aid in understanding these melodies and give an introduction to an essential aspect of music, lyrics, or Sahityam.

This course will include 10 introductory Geetams from the following Ragas - 

• 4 Geetam from Raga Malahari - one of the basic Janya Raga (derived from a parent raga)
• Mohanam
• Deshakshi
• Shuddhasaveri
• Nattai
• Kalyani
• Arabhi
• Navaroj
• Nagaswaravali
• Pantuvarali

About the Teacher

Known for their attention to detail, both Anahita and Apoorva are passionate Gurus. They have been training students, both young and old for almost a decade. What started as informal guidance to other students as senior disciples of their Guru, they imbibed the techniques applied by their Gurus that helped them understand and appreciate such a sophisticated system of music at such young ages.

They have had the opportunity to learn from several masters of the field as well as collaborate with some of the most iconic Gurus of our classical system which further enhanced their own natural instincts to impart knowledge.

As senior faculty members of a few prestigious institutions, they are deeply involved in creating a culture of deep interest and discernment in classical music by being part of projects that have taken Indian classical music to grassroots levels for many years now.

Their large repertoire of compositions has become helpful for students aspiring to learn specific topics of Carnatic Music. Their zeal for sharing knowledge has been evident in all of their classes, as observed by their students, both beginners and those at the advanced stages. It is a matter of great joy and pride that many of their students have been awarded first place in several competitions even on the international stage and some have blossomed into performing musicians and teachers themselves.
