Course Summary
Carnatic music has a very systematic approach that enables people from absolutely no musical background to understand the dynamics and nuances of the art form and imbibe them. A strong foundation determines the quality of music. Learning this art form enables the student to connect and enjoy all genres of music not just Carnatic music.

About the Course
The course emphasizes learning the basics of Carnatic vocal music. The students will learn the following musical concepts in detail -
- 14 Sarale Varse will be taught which is one of the foundational exercises for beginners. It involves the systematic rendition of musical notes in a simple and ascending-descending manner within a specific raga (melodic framework).
- 5 Janti Varse - yet another fundamental vocal exercise that involves a diverse combination of notes that promote vocal agility, control, precision, and pitch accuracy.
- 3 Daatu Varse - a rhythmic exercise in Carnatic vocals. It involves the repetitive singing of rhythmic patterns using specific syllables to develop rhythm proficiency, timing, and a strong sense of tala.
After the completion of this course, the students can Level-up in Carnatic Vocals with Ila Sangeetha Dilip.
About the Teacher
Ila Sangeetha Diliip commenced vocal training under Smt. H N Rajalakshmi and continued under Smt. Pushpa Srinivasan and Smt. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar for 10 years. Ila Sangeetha is also a competent Carnatic violinist having trained under Shri. H.K Narasimha Murthy for a few years and currently performing Vocal and Violin duet concerts with her husband K J Diliip.
Ila Sangeetha has been performing vocal and violin concerts for top organizations in India. Her skill has come through in challenging concerts such as Pancha Gana Raga Tana Pallavi, Navaragakshara RTP, and the 128-unit per cycle tala Simhanandana tala RTP.
In June 2017, Ila Sangeetha represented India in Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa and performed as an Indian Cultural Delegate and received tremendous appreciation from esteemed dignitaries. She has also performed and given lectures in many other countries such as Canada, France, Switzerland, Italy, and London.
