For those who are starting from scratch, there are three different stages in learning Carnatic vocal music:

About the Teacher: Devu Narayan is a Carnatic Music vocalist, teacher, and researcher based in Kerala. A disciple of Guru Smt. Shobana Krishnamoorthy for the last 12 years, Devu was initiated to the world of art and music as a toddler and was trained under several Acharyas.
Devu has a strong academic background in Carnatic Music and has secured ranks in Bachelor’s and Master’s (University of Kerala) degrees. Devu has also qualified State Eligibility Test (SET Kerala).
She has impressive Carnatic vocals teaching experience and has worked at various schools, including the prestigious Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pangode, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Aakkulam, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kozhikode, and L'ecole Chempaka International School, Sreekaryam.
She has also been associated with TechSariga as a guest faculty and consultant in Carnatic Music. A 'B Grade artist' recognized by Akashvani (Prasar Bharati), Devu has performed at various concerts and music festivals, including Chembai Sangeethotsavam. She has several accolades to her name.
