About the Course
Throughout their learning journey students will be introduced to the following concepts:
- Introduction to basic Shruthi and concepts of Laya
- Simple calculations with Nottu Swarams along with the concepts of Sawaram and Sahithyam
- Saralai Varasais (three speeds)
- Jantai Varasais (three speeds)
- Daatu Varasais (three speeds)
- Upper and Lower Sthayi Varasais (three speeds)
- Introduction to seven Talams
- Introduction to Alankarams (three speeds)
- Introduction to interesting Geethams (in different Ragams and Talams)
With a firm understanding of the above-mentioned concepts, students can move on to the next intermediate level by Vasudha Keshav.
About the Teacher: Vasudha has been performing concerts for over 3 decades and has been passionately teaching for over 26 yrs. She is an 'A' grade artist at All India Radio and Doordarshan. She is M.A. (music) and she is also a commerce graduate.
She has worked in prestigious organizations like Madras music Kalakshetra, Carnatica Chennai, and JSS Mysore as music faculty. She has widely travelled to the US, and Canada to train students to perform concerts at the highly prestigious Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival in the years 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
