Course Details

This intermediate course is aimed at helping the students specialise on the sarod as an instrument. It will help them gain deeper insight into Hindustani music. Deeper insight will help them hold good, to be able to practise Hindustani classical music on any other instrument. Lessons on Hindustani music will teach students more on the intricacies associated with each taal and raag. Emphasis will be laid on the technical understanding of the sarod, the different playing techniques as well as dedicated practise of Indian classical music in its varied forms. This intermediate course will revise the ragas already learnt by the student in the beginners course e.g yaman, raag bhairav etc. The training will also cover theoretical as well as practical application of Indian music, over and above understanding sarod. Further, it will concentrate on  correction of technique, if necessary, thereby venturing into new ragas, gats, taals, bandishes.
