About the Teacher
Hrishikesh Majumdar, a young and exceptionally talented flutist, began his musical journey under the guidance of his father, the renowned Guru Pt. Ronu Majumdar and his mother, Mrs. Anandi Bula Majumdar, at the tender age of 6. He continues to refine his vocal skills under the mentorship of Guru Pandit Vikas Kashalkar.
Hrishikesh represents the Maihar Gharana binkaari style like his father and performs in Dhrupad style alaap, Jod Jhaala, and Ghatkari style and is equally trying his skills in Thumri, Dadra, and folk music.
Apart from excelling in classical music, Hrishikesh has ventured into new-age music and composed music for various projects. Some of his endeavors that deserve special mention include - his innovative concept of "FLUTE TRANCE," blending Indian classical music with trance music, and his jugalbandi performances with his father, notably at Goa Fest 2019 and prestigious festivals across India, among others.
