Course Summary

This 1-on-1 course is for all levels, beginners to intermediate to advanced guitarists, and takes place in weekly 60-minute sessions over the duration of 4 weeks. This custom course will be tailored specifically to the level and interests of the student. This will be a course of study on Classical Nylon String Guitar in the skill sets necessary to be able to access the Classical Guitar Repertoire. Ultimately, the techniques learned will be utilized to play and form mature interpretations of Classical Guitar pieces.

About the Course

This 1-on-1 online live course is for all, beginners to intermediate to advanced guitarists. This custom course will be tailored specifically to the level and interests of the student. This course takes place in weekly 60-minute sessions over the duration of 4 weeks. Students can continue taking the course longer than 4-weeks based on their goals and requirements.

If you are wanting to learn Classical Guitar you will be playing to Anthony's main strength. Anthony Bez has taught Classical Guitar for every level and age in last 55 years of teaching. You will learn proper right-hand position and usage, good tone production, right and left hand fingering exercises for strength, accuracy, and speed. You will learn chords, chord strumming patterns, scales, scale exercises, and how to practice and utilize them in context. Depending on your level Anthony will use a method or assign appropriate repertoire to guide you to your highest level of playing. If you are a beginner, Anthony will use a method to teach both technique and music reading. Learning to read music will be necessary and is the gift of a lifetime. Anthony's many years of playing and teaching will allow him to adapt the repertoire to suit your growth.

About Anthony Bez: Anthony Bez began to study the guitar by the time he was aged just five years old, performing regularly by age nine and debuting his classical guitar skills by his early teens. Since then, he has performed throughout Europe, as well as the USA. He studied professionally at Arizona State University, Berklee College of Music, and the Mannes College of Music.

He was a recent recipient of a grant from "Meet the Composer", has been the Music Director/Composer of the Actor’s Shakespeare Company for over 16 years and is the current serving Secretary of the New York City Classical Guitar Society. Anthony is a completely devoted teacher and was on the faculty of the American Institute of Guitar for over ten years. He has also written articles that have appeared in NYlon Review, Soundboard Magazine, the publication of the Guitar Foundation of America and Guitar Review. He has two CDs of his own compositions, "Holy Mountain" which has been featured on WNYC’s "New Sounds" as well as on Public Radio here in both the United States and in Canada, and his solo follow-up album "Return to Mountain" which was recorded at the Rinzai monastery and retreat center Dai Bosatsu International Zendo Kongo-ji.
