Q: How much time should a student devote to self-practice on a daily basis?

This course will require practice time outside of lessons. Time spent practicing may vary from 15 minutes per day to an hour, depending on a student’s level of interest. Students who wish to become professional guitarists will need more hours of practice per day using a different set of exercises and materials than students who are seeking to learn guitar as a hobby. A detailed structure for home practice for each student will be discussed and explained during class.

Q: What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?

The student is required to inform the teacher about his/ her absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his/ her absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on the teacher’s discretion.

Q: What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?

Q: How long will a teacher take to revert to students’ queries after class hours?

Students should get a response within 24 hours if the teacher is not preoccupied or traveling.

Introduction to basics of music theory that include gaining knowledge about notes, rhythm, scales, chords, and every other essential information that help the students to understand, interpret, and create music.
Right-hand picking and strumming techniques - where you learn to use your dominant hand to pluck or strum the strings to produce sound and rhythm.
Left-hand finger exercises - help to develop strength, agility, and coordination of the fretting hand.
Syncing both hands and playing involves coordinating the movements of your fretting hand (left hand for right-handed players) and your picking hand (right hand for right-handed players) to smoothly play notes, chords, and melodies.

About the Teacher

Kushal Kundu started developing his knack for music in his childhood. He belongs to a family of musicians. His father is a certified drummer, his mother is a singer and his brother is a drummer and a music director. He started playing on stage when he was 15 years old. He plays in his renowned folk fusion band 'Bolepur Bluez', and a western band 'The Jiverz'. Along with these he has played as a Session Guitarist for a travel show on the Discovery channel and Government Project on Light and Sound shows in various cities.

He has been an active professional guitar player since 2007 and did more than 500 stage shows. He started teaching guitar playing and music in 2014 and taught more than 100 students on a one-on-one basis. He has also worked as a Guitar teacher in a music school for a year.
