Master the Art of Hip-Hop Dance

Students will be introduced to the following concepts:

• History of Hip Hop: Origin and development of hip-hop dance and music through videos of old-school hip-hop dancers.
• Basic Foundation of Hip Hop: Foundational movements and techniques in hip-hop dance, including grooving to the music and mastering basic steps such as Rock, Bounce, Jack, and Top Rock.
• Understanding Musicality: Understanding hip-hop music by analyzing different tracks, identifying elements like bass, snare, and drops, and developing a strong sense of rhythm.
• Basic Old School Steps: Basic steps of hip-hop, building upon the foundation and incorporating more advanced moves to expand the repertoire.
• Choreography and Combinations: Combining choreography with steps and techniques covered while expressing creatively through dance.
• Freestyle and Improvisation: Developing freestyle and improvisation skills to dance spontaneously and creatively to different hip-hop tracks.
• Hip-Hop Dance Culture: Insights into the cultural significance and social impact of hip-hop dance, exploring its roots, its role in communities, and its connection to broader social movements.

About the Teacher: A dancer and choreographer, Saurabh Yadav has an impressive experience of more than seven years. He has trained in several dance styles like Contemporary, Hip-hop, Bollywood, and many more under the guidance of maestros from across the world.

Saurabh has choreographed in various movies and ads. He was selected for the international Chicago footwork project. He has been a dance instructor and aims at equipping enthusiasts with the incredible power of dance.
