Learn to Play the Veena- Beginners to Intermediate Level

Basic Lessons will cover a systematic way of approaching classes with both beginners and advanced classical music learners. Students will receive a detailed knowledge about the instrument Veena, Basic Carnatic music lessons, an introduction to Ragas, and written notes to students to practice at their homes. Following topics will be covered:

• Introduction to Veena 
• Introduction to Sarali Varisai
• Alankaras
• Geetam and Swarajathi

Intermediate Lessons: N. Karthik has trained many students to give performances on various platforms. Senior students will learn advanced Carnatic music lessons, Raga structure, Krithis, Varnams, Swarajathi, Taanam, and Devaranamas. Senior students will also get an opportunity to perform on various stages with their teacher. 

Interested students can also learn film music and veena fusion music at the intermediate level.

About the Teacher: Veena Artist N. Karthik belongs to the Carnatic classical Veena tradition of Mysore Baani. He is the grandson of Ganakala Bhushana, late M Cheluvaraya Swamy, one of the revered Veena artistes of the erstwhile Mysore royal palace. His initial training, began at the age of fourteen, under the guidance of his uncle Vainika Vidwan late C Krishna Murthy, an eminent artist who performed with the late Shri Doraiswamy Aiyangar in the Festivals in Russia and Germany. He later continued training under the tutelage of Shri M V Krishna Murthy for three years, in the Guru-Shishya tradition of classical music. 

Karthik Holds the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for MOST CONCERTS IN 24 HOURS by an individual for performing 50 concerts (gigs) in different places in Bangalore on 29- 30 November 2005. The LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS has recognized it as a National record and published the same in 2008 book for performing 50 concerts in 24 hours.

Karthik has given solo veena concerts on invitation in numerous Sangeetha Sabhas of Bangalore such as Malleswaram Sangeetha Sabha, Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Thirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD), Sri Jayarama Seva Mandali, Yavanika, and other organizations. He has been invited by the Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka for veena concerts on various occasions.
