It emphasizes getting the right body posture, holding the instrument properly, and acquiring the basic techniques for playing Sarod. It is a mix of joy and pushing your limits as a music enthusiast.

About the Teacher
Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty is an internationally acclaimed Sarod player. He is known for his astounding versatility of self-expression as a musician, educationist, music composer, and conductor.
Rajeeb belongs to the Maihar Gharana of Hindustani Classical Music. He has trained under his father and lifelong Guru Pandit Rabi Chakraborty. Over the last four decades, Rajeeb has been performing nationally and internationally at major music festivals and concerts. Rajeeb has also made his mark as a composer in a host of films, telefilms, serials, fusion bands, and stage plays. He was the guest composer of the National Youth Orchestra in the UK.
Rajeeb has a doctoral degree in Indian Classical Music on the 'Role of computers in learning & teaching North Indian classical music’. In addition, he earned a degree in Western classical music from the Royal College of Music (London) with distinction.
He has served as guest faculty at the University of Minnesota, University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Melon University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA, Leeds College, Hope University, and Aldborough Music School in the UK, and conducted numerous summer schools in Germany, Sweden, and the UK.
In 2013, he was the Artist in Residence and King-Chavez-Parks Visiting Professor at the Center for World Performance Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. This is an extremely prestigious program that hosts internationally acclaimed scholars and artists from around the globe.
Rajeeb was awarded the Fulbright-Nehru Academic Excellence Fellowship by the United States India Education Foundation in 2016. In 2018, Rajeeb collaborated with the Grammy Award winner Orchestra of Pioneer High School in Michigan, USA to form a global symphonic orchestra showcasing the music of Tagore performed by high school children first time on American soil.
