This 12-week course provides students who already have a basic understanding of Indian classical vocal music with more advanced concepts and methods. Lessons begin with a review of Shuddha swaras, the seven standard notes of the Indian classical scale, with note correction. Once these techniques are covered, students will learn raga Yaman, including the Aroha Awroha, alankar patterns, Chota Khayal, and teental. If the student chooses, they may learn the techniques for alap and taan, as well.

Ashvini's students have the opportunity to learn from a singer with decades of experience performing and teaching. At the successful completion of the 12 weekly lessons, students will be able to sing and understand more complex concepts and ragas of Hindustani classical music.
