About the Teacher
Brindha Manickavasakan is a performing vocalist and research scholar in the field of Carnatic
Music is based in Chennai, India. She has been performing for the past 23 years, from the age of 10. She is an ‘A’ grade artist of All India Radio, Chennai. She has been training in Carnatic Vocal Music for the past 27 years.
Brindha learned under the tutelage of esteemed Carnatic vocalists such as - Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Dr. Manjula Sriram, Sri Madurai Rajaram, Sri Nagercoil M S Muthappa Bhagavathar, Smt. Durga Venkatesh, Sri D. J. Balakrishna, Smt. Bhagavathi Shankaran, Smt. Jayashri Rao, and Smt. Rajalakshmi Ashok.
At present, Brindha is training with ‘Sangita Kala Acharya’ Vid. Suguna Varadachari. She learned to play Veena under the guidance of Smt. Radhika Chandrashekar, and Smt. Radhika Bhaskar.
Brindha has performed at several esteemed stages and has collaborated with renowned musicians and vocalists from across the world.
