Course Details

This course will include second level ghazals which are not so easy and not so tough. The students will get the opportunity to learn all ghazals with correct pronunciations, meaning, explanations, and notes involved in it. It's a well-planned course for those who want to learn ghazals in a disciplined manner and step by step progress. In this course students will learn Ghazals of Mehndi Hasan, Farida Khanum, Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh Chitra Singh, Talat Aziz, Anup Jalota, Chandan Das, Asha Bhonsle, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Rafi, Bhupinder Singh, Meetali Singh, Suresh Wadkar, Ashok Khosla, Peenaz Masani, Nayyara noor, Chhaya Ganguly, Reshma, Pankaj Udhas, Rajendra Mehta- Neena Mehta. Students will have to select the ghazals of their choice from the below list only.

About Sonal Shah: Sonal Shah is a well-known Sufi Singer. She is classically trained, with a postgraduate degree in Music from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University (SNDT). Shah is a National Award title holder “Sur-Mani” for Indian Classical Music and has been performing as an artist in All India Radio since last 30 years. Previously, Sonal Shah was invited to an exclusive interview by Pakistani radio channel Dhamaal for her service as a Sufi and Ghazal singer. In addition to her musical studies, Shah has also become fluent in the Urdu language to ensure a complete and deep understanding of the Urdu poetry as it contributes to Ghazal music.

How much time should a student enrolling for this course practice everyday?
Answer
Students should practice a minimum of 30 minutes every day. If they can devote more time to practice, they will learn better and faster.

What if a student is unable to attend an upcoming class?
Answer
The student is required to inform the teacher about his absence from a particular session, two days prior to the class. In such a case, the teacher will reschedule the class and conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student. In case the student misses to give two days prior notice about his absence to the teacher, then the decision to conduct another class for that student is completely based on teacher’s discretion.

What if the teacher wishes to reschedule a class?
Answer
In case the teacher is unavailable for the scheduled class, he/she will inform the students two days prior to the class. The teacher will conduct the rescheduled class on or before the end (i.e. Saturday) of the ensuing week or such other time as may be mutually decided between the teacher and the student.

The teacher will try to revert back to queries raised after class hours within a 24 hour period
